Policy and analysis
The Institute regularly provides background information and analyses based on research results and special studies. The aim is to inform policy decisions on current African issues in the Nordic countries. Conferences are also held, which are aimed at policy-makers, NGOs and the media both in Africa and in the Nordic countries.
Activities in the past year have focused on the New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD), the African Union, African Regional Co-operation, the democratic development in newly liberated states, documenting the recent past particularly with regard to the liberation struggles in Southern Africa, and the very volatile situation in Central Africa. West Africa has also increasingly come into focus in the past year.
