The 4th European Conference on African Studies (ECAS) will be convened in Uppsala on 15-18 June 2011. ECAS 2011 is co-organised by NAI and the African Studies in Europe (AEGIS).

20 October 2010 Publication of panels and call for papers
31 December 2010 Deadline for submission of paper abstracts
28 February 2011 Publication of accepted paper abstracts
15 October 2010 to 15 March 2011 Early participant registration (at reduced rate)
16 March to 11 June 2011 Participant registration
31 May 2011 Deadline for submission of full papers
15 – 18 June 2011 Conference in Uppsala, Sweden

AEGIS

AEGIS logo

AEGIS was founded in 1991 and is a network of African Studies centers in Europe. It aims to create synergies between experts and institutions. With primary emphasis on Social Sciences and Humanities, AEGIS' main goal is to improve understanding about contemporary African societies.
