Externally funded researcher at the Nordic Africa Institute

Researchers with external funding are welcome to apply for an employment at the Institute. Your research must fit in one of the following clusters:

• Rural Dynamics: Agrarian change, property and resources
• Conflict, displacement and transforma­tion
• Globalization, trade & regional integration
• Urban dynamics

You will as externally funded researcher be part of a creative research environment in which you will have the opportunity to participate in the development of research both within your own cluster and in collaboration with researchers in other clusters.  

As a researcher at the Institute, you will have access to the library which offers over 60 000 titles on modern Africa within the social sciences. The library also provides access to a wide array of online resources and professional library services. You will also be able to participate in debates on Africa through our various communication channels (publications with wide circulation, NAI's website, outreach activities and meetings with politicians and policy makers).

All researchers at the institute have the task to make the research available and that means also to participate in the activities where one's competence is requested.  

Externally funded researchers are charged 20 percent yearly for overhead costs.
